How to Set Up an Email Account on iPhone
- Tap on the Mail app to open it
- If you do not already have an account set up, it will take you to the Add Account screen. If you are adding an account to Mail, tap on Add Account.
- From the Add Account screen, tap Other.
4. This will take you to the New Account screen, where you will enter your account information:
- Under Name, enter your own name. This is the name people will see when you send them a message.
- Under Email, enter the email address you wish to set up.
- Under Password, enter the password you already use to access this email account.
- Under Description, enter the domain associated with this email account. so if your email address is address@example.com, you will enter example.com
Tap Next
5. Now you will configure your account. Start by selecting POP or IMAP as the account type. If you want to know more about the difference between POP and IMAP, click here.
6. Now enter your account details. Start with Incoming Settings:
- Under Host Name, enter [server.hbwebhost.com]
- Under User Name, enter your email address.
- Under Password, enter the same password you entered at step (6).
For Outgoing Settings, enter the same information as for Incoming Settings. Tap Next.**IMPORTANT** If you have NOT purchased an SSL Certificate, and you get an error
7. Tap Save and your phone will then verify your information.
8. Once your iPhone has successfully completed the process, it will take you back to the Mail screen. There, you will see your account listed in the Accounts section.
A message may appear that says "Cannot Get Mail" or "Cannot Send Mail". If you get this, click OK and verify that the User Name and/or Password is correct. Then click Save.You may then get the following message: "New Account. This account may not be able to send or receive emails. Are you sure you want to save?". Click Save.
Upon successful completion of the mailbox setup you are taken back to the Mail Settings screen. You will also need to make a few adjustments. Go back to Mail, Contacts, Calendars and select your account. Under Outgoing Mail Server select server.hbwebhost.com to the right of SMTP.
Set the following:
- Use SSL: ON
- Authentication: Password
- Server Port: Enter server port details 465
Select Done.
Click on the arrow-shaped button that the name of the account you've set up in it, to go back to the Account Settings screen.
Select Advanced
Set the following:
- Use SSL: ON
- Authentication: Password
- Server Port POP3: 995 - it should default to this if you selected POP3
- Server Port IMAP: 993 -
Click Done and the setup is complete.
