Set Up Email Account with Outlook 2007 or 2010 - NO SSL

 

The configurations below are for connecting WITHOUT SSL.


1. To create a new Outlook account in 2007 version, go to the TOOLS tab and click Account Settings:

To create a new Outlook account in 2010 version, go to the File tab and click Account Settings;
choose Account Settings from the drop-down menu:

2. Click New in the Email tab:


 

 3. Choose Manually configure server settings or additional server types option and click Next:

 

 

4. Choose Internet E-mail and click Next:

 

 

5. Enter/select the following information:

Your Name: the name of your account in Outlook
E-mail Address: your Private Email address that was set up in the CPANEL

Account Type: select IMAP or POP3 from the drop-down menu

Incoming mail server: mail.domain.tld
Outgoing email server: mail.domain.tld

For domain.tld , enter your REAL domain there.

User Name: your Private Email address (user@domain.tld) that was set up in the CPANEL
Password: the password for this email account

Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA): should be unchecked

Or, if you are using a POP3 account:

4. Then click More Settings:

 For our example, we will use IMAP to configure our email account.





5. Go to the Outgoing Server tab and select My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication:





6. Go to the Advanced tab and enter the following Server Port numbers:

Incoming server (if are using IMAP): 143 port for NO SSL
Incoming server (if you are using POP3): 110 port for NO SSL
Outgoing server (SMTP): 25 port for AUTO or TLS OR 587 port for TLS

 

INCOMING SERVER (IMAP):  143

OUTGOING SERVER (IMAP)25 for AUTO

*For versions with a DROP down menu for Incoming server, choose NONE

OUTGOING SERVER (IMAP)25 for TLS

*For versions with a DROP down menu for Incoming server, choose NONE





INCOMING SERVER (IMAP):  143

OUTGOING SERVER (IMAP)587 for TLS

*For versions with a DROP down menu for Incoming server, choose NONE

 

 

INCOMING SERVER (POP3):  110

OUTGOING SERVER (POP3)25 for AUTO

*For versions with a DROP down menu for Incoming server, choose NONE


 

 

INCOMING SERVER (POP3):  110

OUTGOING SERVER (POP3)25 for TLS

*For versions with a DROP down menu for Incoming server, choose NONE


 

 

INCOMING SERVER (IMAP):  110

OUTGOING SERVER (IMAP)587 for TLS

*For versions with a DROP down menu for Incoming server, choose NONE


 

7. Click OK to return to the main window.

8. Click Test Account Settings. If the submitted information is correct, the Status column

will display Completed:





9. If the test was successful, click Close to return to the previous window, then click Next to

finish the setup.
